How Hopper Uses Integrated Pest Management

Integrated Pest Management, or IPM, is one of the environmentally friendly options Hopper uses to help rid your home or business of pests. Although IPM doesn’t use highly toxic products, this option may be best if you have children past the crawling stage.

IPM starts with a thorough inspection and is followed by knowledgeable recommendations such as sealing food containers, caulking pest entry points, cutting shrubbery and trees away from the home, and other exclusion techniques. Items such as glue boards and mechanical controls may also be used during this method. And as a last resort, low impact materials may be used to control a pest problem if it seems to be growing and getting out of hand.

The Green First Program Can Eliminate Your Pest Problems

Our Green First program is another option for families with small children. The program uses non-chemical methods, like our standard pest programs, to prevent and manage pests and rodents around your home or business. These methods are called Preventative Pest Management. PPM uses exclusion techniques such as caulking and sealing pest entry points to prevent the entry of rodents and pests in the home before using other means of elimination.

If other means are needed during the Green First Program, we start out by using green products including organic compounds with low impact materials. If the situation is still not getting better, we will then apply a small number of standard materials in a targeted manner as a back-up.

Start With the All Green Program

The All Green Program uses 100% green products to help eliminate rodents and pests in your home. Those who are worried about the little ones in their family and pets in the home may find this the best alternative. This program uses plant oils which are “Generally Recognized As Safe” (GRAS) and/or have been approved for food and beverage consumption by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

(However, the customer should be aware that 100% control of pest populations is unlikely with this program and that an acceptable pest tolerance threshold is necessary.)
